there have been, at various times, ideas on imposing new "hard rules" (i.e. enforced by the technology) to gridcosm. in the end, for one reason or another, they have kinda been let go of and, occasionally, incorporated (usually temporarily) as more "soft" rules -- more of conventions or tradition. (its understandable why these are temporary, given the speedy nature of the gridlife.)

almost always, these ideas involve limitation (only so many per day, only so many levels in a row, only so many per level, etc). others involve voting or approving, etc. these all have their places, perhaps in other synergy projects yet-to-come. i (personally) always come back to wanting gridcosm to be the open experiment where the (hard) rules are structural and the rest has to come from community-based "agreement". HA! pretty funny huh? *grin*
