Yes the two animations I put in Hygrid had noise. The pentagon is just plain old processed 60 cycle hum, and dirty hum at that. The circle/ spirograph/ whatever is two locally generated sine waves tuned close together, but to make the shimmering effect I mixed in some real grungy stuff of WWV and WWVH going in and out of phase with each other. The one in the Artchive is locally generated sines and not as noisy, but obviously noisier than the output of a mathematical process, which is one reason I like your animations. They're pure and purity is good.
