its funny you mention that... there is a, well, i will call it a "data animation" i have for the dvd. i cant really explain more, partly because i dont really understand what i did.. haha one (or maybe three) part of it does try to capture the way the pieces get put into place. some patterns are obviously impossible (starting in corners), and it doesnt explore individual patterns (what one person would favor, etc). it also plays with time in a different way than the standard animation, in that rather than framerate mapping to levels, it maps to time. i think its something like a frame is 12 hours. so if the grid hits a lull, it is reflected in the data animation sorta stalling out. when things happen fast, it sorta all blurts by.
