I saw this comic in the May/June issue of magazine, Momentum Planet(ary gear). Nice work! The little guy in his argyles, necktie and school boy cap with backpack is evocative of the era of cycling associated with 3-speed bikes. In about 1951 my older brother got an "English racer" with Sturmey-Archer 3-speed internal gear hub. I was sooo jealous on my balloon tired single speed! Now, a few years and cycling miles later, I am considering building up a bike with an 'IGH' for city riding. Finally retired I find I ride more often but more commuting to shopping, recreation than the exercise/sport riding of the past. Several people have responded in horror to the rear rack and panniers I added to my Colnago. But it holds the groceries just fine, thank you very much. What kind of bike did you add the S-A hub to? Old enough to have horizontal rear drop outs for chain tension adjustment? Paul Glassen Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, BC paul_glassen@hotmail.com
