I think that I know what you mean...but I could be wrong.

The meaning of words (my own, as perceived by others and theirs, as perceived by me) is sometimes very elusive to me...and them.

I had previously stated that I have been 'down here in the trenches' meaning that I have been a non-elite, 'working-class' artist largely ignored by the 'art community'. I believe that this statement, 'down in the trenches' was perceived by at least one person to mean 'in a rut' because they replied to me that if I find myself in a trench that I should stop digging. This was as much misunderstood as my infamous 'dime a dozen' remark.

Perhaps I should stop talking and stick to my pencils...and, no, I don't mean stick myself with a pencil. But, as evidenced here, that will be largely misunderstood as well.

What is 'obvious' to others sometimes remains unknown to me...and vice versa.

"Did you have a good life...good enough for a movie?"
