But, being one micron across the palm, this hand is lots smaller than an amoeba... more like the size an amoeba's hand would be, if amoebae had hands. They extend pseudopodia (literally, "false feet") and it might be the size of a small pseudopod, but let's not quibble over such tiny matters.
