How much television do you watch? I don't watch very much television, because I find that a lot of the programming is violent or portrays different types of people in a negative manner, and I choose not to watch too much of it... (such as) minorities, homosexuals, obese people. Any category that you can fall in that isn't the standard.

How do you think television portrays minorities? I think television portrays all minorities as, not all of us as criminals. But some of us may be criminals, some of us may be stupid. Some of us may be whatever. It's just not good. I can't recall seeing many minorities being heroes. They're always the guys that the cops are chasing or the karate people are kicking down or whatever. We're never the heroes. We're always the bad guys.

How do you feel about violence on television? The thing that gets me the most about television is that the majority of the shows that you see, whatever, movies, have to have the shoot outs and the killings and the suspense, who done it, who didn't. And I'm not really into that. I feel like there's so many things happening out here and on the street and in society that we don't need to glorify it or watch it every day. It's already part of our life. I don't think television should be some kind of fantasy thing, but it should be more so of a problem solving tool as opposed to this is how it is so we're going to show it.

If there was one thing that you could change about television, what would that be? Well, I would try to make it be more of a tool to solve problems that we have in society. And I find that a lot of times they have the talk shows, and they've gotten completely outrageous. It's just ridiculous, where they're not really discussing serious issues. And those type of shows can be used to solve problems and serious problems so one side will know where the other side is coming from. And they have to be able to understand each other before they can change or fix anything. So I think that I would change it so that it would be used as a communication, a mediation, a conflict resolution.
