| What shows do you like to watch? | (Jasmine) I like Rug Rats, Doug, Real Monsters, and Gullah Gullah Island. |
| What do you think about the shows on TV for children? | (Patrice) Basically what started me not liking a lot of the TV was a lot of the violence,
especially in the cartoons. What happened is I got my daughter involved in Hooked
on Phonics, and we just turned the TV off. It makes a bond, it really does. And this
is how we bond, by reading to each other. I think TV is just too violent for any
age group of children nowadays. Learning starts at home more than in the classroom or to leave it up to the child's teacher. It's not all the teacher's responsibility to learn how to read and write. A lot of things come from home. TV, it's being used as a tool to babysit your child. And I'm not looking for a babysitter. |
