THE DEAL: On July 18th I arrived in Brazil. I am visiting my my friends Lenara and Ivana Verle. The plan is to travel to five South American cities: Porto Alegre, Salvador, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Rio. My fellow gringo, Brady, is here too. He's spent the past several months making sure all Edsurgences were quelled and supplies of peanut butter were secured. We'll all be swirling dervically together by bus betwixt urban centers. I'll be bringing them all back with me for Burning Man.

SCHEDULE: The basic schedule is almost exactly like this:

THE CREW:

Ed STASTNY - I have no claim to fame other than the fact that my hair is now dyed black. That's cheating. I only have nifty hair because I won a bet with Bethany. She's indentured to do all of my hairstuff until the turn of the millennium. My codename is "Uud". Rhymes with "shrewd".


Lenara VERLE - In addition to setting up the trip within Brazil, Lenny's a digital art operative for S.I.T.O., mastress of the Brazilian Sect of Insect Toting Oligarchists. Her codename is "Lunuru". Unparalleled in the art of perpendicularity, she can intersect any line you extend toward her coordinate. Double gear action wink! The rumours are true! Lunuru has her own Brazil 99 page going too!


Ivana VERLE - Mystical, whimsical, laughter that frightens and inspires. Codenamed "Uvu", she is trained in 29 methods of splinter removal and 53.5 ways of ear-twisting. Watch out!


Brady CLARK - Propreitron of the galactically rewound Gracie's Birdcage, this agent is still on scientific probation from the crew while we investigate exactly what his "secret ingredient" is. Snips, snails, puppydog tails, Chemical X (tm) and something that smells like gingham. American by the grace of chaos, codenamed "Brudu".
