i do not think its a shame to be bored *when it inspires you*, as you say here. i think the danger in boredom is when you become apathetic in response to it, and do not really do anything to counter the boredom. maybe television is the #1 bad response to boredom.

and fwiw, sometimes i eat when i am bored, which will often require cooking. so i considered that some art inspired by boredom as well, personally. yum.
