None of it smelled like ethical pedantry to me. Maybe they were a bit ad hominem, however.

Personally, I don't feel animosity for you. Just a severe distaste for jaggy quilting tactics. It's not what I like to see on Gridcosm. It's not just you, a lot of people do it.

I look at Gridcosm mostly in streaks now. That is, a stream of levels. I like to watch them animate by (using the Flash viewer, which amazingingly still works, I need to update it!). The quilty levels stick out to me the same way a blaring car-horn sticks out to me when I'm walking down the street. It's jarring and seems selfish to me. I'm sure the guy hitting his horn has a million reasons he's doing it and thinks (if he thinks of me at all) I'm being too sensitive to be bothered by it.

I'm afraid of Americans too, for what it's worth.
