The question really to be considered is does the Internet harm copyright? :-)

Once corporations had the same rights under copyright law as individuals the concept of copyright was turned on it's head. Corporate ownership of copyrighted material (for example Corbis's massive claim of owning images) is something that goes against the original intent of the concept of copyright: to insure that original creators would have an incentive to make display new work without fear that others would dilute and profit it. Corporations do harm art and individuals.

Thank goodness for fair use!
