I offer that he just takes his time. I cannot seem to imagine him laboring over each panel for too long, not owing to any qualitative assessment, but because I cannot imagine anyone attending to 150 pixels sq. for 4 hours.

I think he uses the back-burner method, doing multitasking or perhaps he's multi-taxed!
