The light was automated - but it took me a lot of effort to get it to do what I wanted.

I hadn't noticed the tentacles. The three jellyfish are identical (I don't remember if I changed the size on any) but the angle of that middle one makes the tentacles obvious.

I wish I still had the source code. This was done using several layers of code making code. Well, at least 2 - I had a VisualBasic program that generated the code for the jellyfish, and the resulst went into POV Ray. There may have been more, it was a long time ago.
