Description:this shows the original/remaining two gorgons, stheno and euryale, (both born as proper monsters) anguishing over the body of their (basically adopted) sister medusa, the "pretty" one. as far as i'm able to tell, medusa was a beautiful mortal woman, vain and so on, cursed by athena into being a gorgon. various popular depictions show her still being beautiful, except with snakes for hair and the whole Turn To Stone Gaze thing. gorgons, as monsters, have an association with water. and even though there are obvious reptilian overtones, they aren't desert creatures. so i tried to make them seem vaguely shark/snakelike in the face. in the myths, the gorgons have wings, i know, but-
