So art is not supposed to make us think about the things we know have gone before? BS double time.

Art is not created in a vacuum, it has aa background of everything done in the past.

(But hey that rock looks like a mountain, those stains on the wall looks like a battle scene. Oh and that image on the monitor, well it seems to me it looks like red, green and blue pixels.)

There's plenty of room in the world to be an individual. Why would an artist want to do something another "well known" has done before unless they cop to it being a parody or appropriation?
