The whole is more than the sum of it's parts. More than thirteen elements is often too much. Don't consider your addition as stand alone art, less is often more. Your neighbors are important, even though you may dislike them. Eccentricity is appreciated, but don't depreciate the value of the neighborhood.

It is often better to not do anything than do something even though you could. There is always another level when your addition is more appropriate. Quality wins over quantity.

There are domesticated artists. They are opposite but similar to those that believe that they fit in no matter what they do.
