Synergy is collaboration.
Synergy is the section of SITO
that houses all of the collaborative art projects.
The collaborative art projects on SITO are designed to
integrate input from
multiple sources into a whole that is greater than the sum of
its parts. Thus the monniker Synergy.
Collaboration. Community.
These projects have been a very important part of SITO from
the beginning. Our first collaborative art projects took place
through email and FTP. As the World Wide Web became more
widely accessible, we developed projects specifically for
that medium. One of the core principles of the SITO collaborative
process has been that of "community". Artist-participants
(articipants) are strongly encouraged to communicate with one
another by any means available. Every project is linked to
a communication method. We chat, we email, we post to
public message boards. The projects themselves play out
like visual conversations.
