What is this Infinite Grid?

It started with PANIC collaborations in the form of a grid.

A grid?

Divide the workspace into a buncha squares, and take turns filling in the squares so that they fit together in a heartwarming way.

Why stop when you've filled up all the squares? Each square can now be replaced with another square that fits the same space. In fact, we can keep making replacement squares forever, and any combination of squares should in theory fit pleasingly with each other.

InfGrid!

The Infinite Grid was started in 1994, and accumulated 78 individual squares by about 40 artists before it was closed to new submissions (due to lack of time) a year or so later. The Infinite Grid has been featured in publications around the world, incarnated into the physical world as refrigerator magnets and playcubes, and exhibited in Brazil. You can see it here. Its newest relative is the brilliant HyGrid.

How can I play?

The InfGrid is still closed to new submissions 'cause we haven't found time to take care of it properly, but we hope soon to re-open it or start a new one. Meanwhile, you are welcome to join the HyGrid.
