Pedal Potluck Picnic

Instance:
Description: Okay, here's the descrip of the event:

The Pedal Potluck Picnic is a weekly series of bicycle rides hosted by the Urban Adventure League during the summer. We’ll meet up weekly for a determined period of time, and from there we’ll enjoy a ride .

The ride will be a casual one traversing approx. 3-5 miles. There will be a different route each time, incorporating interesting places and/or random trivia. The end destination is a mystery, only known by the ride leader, but it will always be a park or park-like setting. The catch is the “park” will be a lesser-known and/or out of the way spot. While we love Col. Summers, Laurelhurst, and Mt. Tabor, the Urban Adventure League feels it’s time to let the underdogs shine and help increase awareness of our city at the same time. The term “park” will be used liberally here, so expect the unexpected!

At the endpoint we’ll enjoy a picnic dinner. Eating will be potluck style, so please bring food and drink to share (preferably vegetarian/vegan). If you don’t have time to prepare something before the ride, fear not! The starting point is within close proximity to several markets, and we’ll either be passing by and/or ending up near a grocery as well.

The Pedal Potluck Picnic ride series is directly inspired by two Portland events: the Gracies Sunday Brunch, a (defunct) weekly potluck style meal where people came together to hang out, eat, and meet interesting folk (its tagline was “eating brunch with total strangers”; and the Midnite Mystery Ride, a regular (second Friday of the month) bicycle ride where everyone departs at 12am for a mystery destination that only the ride leader knows. We felt like now would be a great time to combine the two while summer’s in full effect!

If you want to participate, just show up on Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Hawthorne Hostel, 3031 SE Hawthorne Blvd. No need to RSVP! If you’d like more info, or would like to organize a PPP of your own, email me!

***** Okay, about the art itself:

Pretty typical tfr Industries stuff here, folks. Bikegirl referenced from a late 40's travel poster. Drawn with tech pencil and pen. Digitized in the Photoshop.

Will I be typecast drawing bicycles?
